|…get to know a man who understands the value of a friend. During my incarceration I’ve lost a lot of people along the way, and those losses have taught me why it’s important to cherish the relationships I build. The word loyalty comes to mind when I attempt to describe what I bring to a friendship. Being kind, thoughtful, and appreciative goes a long way in showing people how much I care. I’ve learned from experience the power of laughter. I get satisfaction from seeing others smile.
Despite my circumstances I try to maintain a positive attitude, I refuse to let prison harden my heart; adversity can either destroy me or make me a better person. I choose to better myself by doing my time constructively while focusing on things I can control.
Over the years I earned my GED and eleven other program certificates. At the moment I’m attending college pursuing my associate’s degree in liberal arts with plans to get a degree in business next.
I spend most of my downtime reading, writing, and working out. My mental escape is playing basketball and listening to music. The daily stress of prison can take its toll, so it’s important I keep my mind occupied. I’m always learning, laughing, and finding creative ways to make ordinary days memorable. Having a friend like you to talk to and confide in will definitely make life more special.
Thanks for reading my profile I look forward to hearing from you.
