I am not going to sugarcoat my situation. This is a lonely place. It is as though the light and color just disappeared, and all that remains is darkness and gray tones. I’ve spent most of my time fighting my conviction. I have been lucky enough to obtain a paralegal degree. Because so many others in here have not been blessed to reach the same level of education, I try to help as many as I can to fight their conviction and other injustices committed by staff and the administration.

This has been hard on my mind and soul. I need someone to share my thoughts and feelings with. I am a man who understands how important it is to be heard. I want to be someone who hears you. I believe when someone shares something so intimate as their personal thoughts, we should listen.

One thing is true and that is happiness comes in many forms. I find it in communication. The world seems to be filled with people whom think of those confined as lessor than human. I have looked into staff’s eyes and seen it myself. That is a painful thing to behold.

I seek to grow a friendship built on truth, understanding and trust. It can be hard to try and explain how one can be surrounded by others 24 hours a day and yet be alone. This COVID-19 isolation may help some to relate to how prison feels.

If you’re a woman with some of the same goals in seeking a pen-pal, please put pen to paper and share your goals and ideas with me. You can also communicate by signing up to e-mail me at www.connectnetwork.com.
